Ministries
At CCML, we believe that we are not effective if we are not both reaching out to our community and providing discipleship to those within our walls. As we grow, so will our ministries within those areas.
Men's Ministry
The men meet at the church on Thursday nights at 6:30 p.m. for prayer and fellowship. Pastor Rick leads.
In the fall, the men enjoy a regional retreat with other Calvary Chapel brothers from across Central Washington.
Women's Ministry
The women meet on Monday nights at 6:30 p.m. at Perkins Restaurant (412 S. Interlake Rd -- just off the freeway at the west end of town) for Bible study and fellowship. These evenings are no-host occasions, but you're welcome to eat a meal, a snack, have a cup of coffee, or just join the fellowship. Dani leads.
The women also enjoy near-monthly activities, including barbecues, window-shopping excursions, the ballet, and a regional retreat in the spring.
Children's Ministry
After worship time on Sunday mornings, our little ones are also taught from the Word. We use both the Calvary Chapel curriculum and Betty Lukens' "Through the Bible in Felt." Sharyn, Kali, Dani, and Danielle are the teachers.
Our infants have their own class, filled with books about Jesus and plenty of activities. There is also space for sleeping ones, and a rocker for Mom. Pastor Rick's lesson can be heard over the monitor as well. Kim and Vicki care for the babies.
Currently, our teens remain with the adults on Sundays, but Danielle is available to teach newer Christian teens who need a more youth-oriented lesson from the Word. During the summer, youth study and activities are offered by Josh and Faye on Friday nights at the church.
Worship Ministry
Calvary Chapel's practice is to encourage the worship of any and all generations. We have a modern worship service with a full band, and encourage all those interested in music to become involved. Sharyn leads Sundays and Pastor Rick leads Wednesdays; the team includes our two Kims., Monte, Steve, Curt, Peggy, and Dani. Services will have different mixes of the above people, but you can be assured that they will always help lead you into a worshipful mindset.
Jail Ministry
Jesus said that part of our ministry as Christians was to visit those in prison. We support the chaplain ministry in our county jail both financially and with time; Vicki, Dan and Faith teach in the jails weekly, bringing the hope and healing of the Gospel to those incarcerated there.
A.R.M.S. Domestic Abuse Ministry
Calvary Chapel Moses Lake has partnered with ARMS to provide a valuable, Scripture-based resource for women suffering from domestic abuse in our community. The location and times are secure, giving women a safe environment to learn how God sees them and what His plans for their life may be. The local ARMS hotline is 509-793-4976, and the ministry website is www.armsonline.org.
Missions
Calvary Chapel Moses Lake currently supports four overseas missions.
Project Little Lamb
For years, missionary Bud Morlock has been quietly engaging in a dynamic ministry of providing life and light to the desparate people of Navkourvka, located near the eastern port city of Kharbarosk, and in China as well, His daughter, Mary, also reaches out to those in Ecuador. Both of these missionaries work tirelessly to bring the Gospel to the unchurched in these areas, provide Bibles for as many as possible, and help with financial and any other needs these siblings in Christ may have.
Punjab Bible School/Harvest Mission to the Unreached
This pastors' school in India raises up native evangelists in this very dark country. Miracles are happening daily there, and the men in this school are taking the Gospel to their own people with results of Biblical proportions.
Josh and Faye Butler/New Tribes Mission
The Butlers, a young couple from our own congregation, are studying to be missionaries to one of the 3000-plus ethnic and tribal groups throughout the third world who have never heard of Jesus the Christ. They are currently in their third year of studies, with another two to three years before joining a tribal community. This is a twenty to thirty-year committment on their part and ours.
The Shepherd's Light
We are now joining in support of the Calvary Chapel Tel Aviv ministry to our Jewish brethren in Israel. These volunteers willingly enter the war-torn borderlands to offer food and supplies to those living under poverty and constant attack from their enemies. We believe God's Word when it says that those who bless Israel, will themselves be blessed; it is truly a blessing to us to be able to assist in ministering to God's chosen people.
Others
Occasionally, Pastor Rick and Vicki have also participated in medical-missions trips to South America. As nurses, the couple has joined with other regional Calvary Chapel ministers and volunteers to care for the needs of our less-advantaged neighbors to the south. God has shown His mighty hand in these trips to both the villagers and to the Calvary teams.
